Maloom FTGFOP 1 Nepal (100g)
Garden Black Tea
For 100 g -
Black tea from Nepal – Jardin de Maloom (Second Flush)From the foothills of the Himalayas (1000-1800m altitude), this rare black tea from the Jardin de Maloom reveals a remarkable balance between intensity and finesse. Its amber liquor develops a long and expressive palate, carried by elegant notes of muscat, wood and a light touch of honey.Harvested during the second picking, this vintage embodies Nepalese know-how in all its subtlety.
It is a close cousin of Darjeeling teas, thanks to a similar terroir. The FTGFOP1 grade (for Flowery Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe of the first quality) designates an excellent quality tea composed of terminal buds of the tea plant in whole leaves (Pekoe, from the Chinese dialect of Xiamen "pek-ho" meaning "white flowers", in reference to the silky white of the buds) and whole buds turned golden after fermentation (Golden Tippies). Orange means "royal", from the name of the Dutch dynasty Oranje Nassau, and denotes a picking of imperial quality.
