Spice blends develop their flavor differently if they are infused (mild taste) or in decoction (strong taste). Tea should never be cooked (decoction) because it cannot tolerate it. We must therefore be careful to make the difference.
In several mixtures we find spices which enhance the taste of the infusion. Either based on tea (e.g. flavored tea: Festival Chai, Masala Chai), rooibos (e.g. flavored rooibos: Christmas Star) or the spice blend alone.
Sometimes, in addition to the pleasant taste, these infusions can be integrated into an Ayurvedic approach. The Spice Route has warming characteristics for the cold season for example.
