Tohei Gyokuro, from Okabe in Shizuoka Prefecture, is one of Japan’s most prestigious green teas. Made from Saemidori, Gokoh, Okumidori, and Yabukita cultivars, tea master Tohei Maeshima has found the perfect balance to combine these varieties to create a tea with unparalleled flavors. The tea plants are shaded for approximately 21 days using rice straw mats, a technique that accentuates the sweetness and umami of the leaves. Only the two tenderest leaves of the shoots are hand-picked, ensuring exceptional quality rich in theanine and other amino acids.
This Gyokuro offers an intense umami flavor, sweet and mild aromas, and a bright green liquor, for a refined and balanced taste experience.
