This superb vintage Sencha Fukamushi has a perfect balance between power and freshness with its iodized, vegetal and fruity notes. From the first sip, it offers an explosion of umami flavors that linger beautifully in the mouth.
Sencha Fukamushi (deep steamed) is a tea whose steaming process has been extended by several seconds. When rolling, this results in smaller leaves, which have fewer needle-rolled leaves than traditional senchas. It is therefore normal that the leaves look a little more "broken". This particularity also causes a green deposit at the bottom of the cup.
The Sencha Fukamushi manufacturing process produces a tea that quickly releases a lot of flavors during infusion. It is therefore necessary to infuse it for a shorter time. It produces a dark green, opaque cup.
Our 2023 vintage comes from Kagoshima prefecture in the southwest of Japan, and is made from Saemidori tea plants.
