Silver Needle - Yin Zhen

Formerly reserved for the emperor, highly sought after for its appearance, its characteristic taste and its rarity, Silver Needle also called Yin Zhen (银针) is neither more nor less than the most prestigious of white teas.

Coming from the Fujian province in China, the land of origin of white tea, this very high quality tea is exclusively made up of downy silver-colored buds. Its withering outdoors in the spring sun for the two days following picking gives it its very particular needle shape. Its fresh aroma of exquisite subtlety requires a long infusion of ten to fifteen minutes. Devoid of bitterness, its crystalline infusion of great delicacy is tasted with respect and humility.
