What is a Gyokuro?
Gyokuro (玉露) or "precious dew" is one of Japan's most prized green teas. Its cultivation is unique in that it is carried out, for three weeks prior to harvest, in the shade of rice mats. Protected from the sun, the tea develops a large amount of chlorophyll and L-theanine, resulting in a deep green infusion with a unique flavor. This exceptional tea will amaze you with its complex aroma, richness on the palate, and depth of taste.
