Gunpowder, called Zhu Cha (珠茶) - tea pearls - in Chinese, owes its name to its leaves, rolled into small balls, with a green-gray color, similar to gunpowder. This popular green tea from China is also the green tea used in the Maghreb as a base for mint tea.
